Choosing a base in southern Tenerife

We have ten days in Tenerife coming up and will be staying in the south, but we cannot decide whether to hire a car for the whole stay or only for the days we leave the coast. We expect several slow days close to our accommodation, so a car parked outside all week might be unnecessary. At the same time, we would like to reach a few smaller places without spending most of those days coordinating connections. I have been comparing information on all inclusive car hire tenerife south airport and realised I need to understand what is actually included before comparing prices. For those who rented recently, which charges or conditions should I check carefully at pickup, especially around insurance, deposits, and fuel? We want enough downtime between longer outings. Hiring for three or four days could be enough if collecting and returning the car during the holiday is straightforward. I would also like to know whether parking near the southern resort areas becomes difficult in the evenings. Would you hire only for the excursions given this kind of itinerary? It would help to hear what worked in practice.

yacht insurance

Spent a couple of weeks shopping for coverage for our boat before spring launch. The first thing I learned: a low premium often means a pile of exclusions. Check agreed value vs actual cash value — on an ACV policy, depreciation eats the payout after a total loss. If the boat is older, be ready for the insurer to ask for a recent survey. Most of the confusion comes from the policy language, so a good starting point is yacht-insurance.net — it covers the main coverage options in plain English. Also read the navigation limits carefully: going past the listed waters can get a claim denied. In hurricane country, the named storm deductible is usually a percentage of hull value, not a flat amount. Don't skimp on liability either — wreck removal and damage to other boats can exceed the value of the boat itself. Get at least three quotes and read the exclusions before you sign.
